Raj Mahal Palace was originally known as
Ranawatji-ka-Bagh was built by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II in 1729 for
his loved wife, Maharani Chandra Kumar Ranawatiji, daughter of the
Maharana of Udaipur. This small palace hotel ,set amidst 15 acresof lush
green lawns,was built over 250 years ago by sawai jai singh of jaipur
for his Queen – Maharani Chandra kunwar Ranawat ji.The list of popular
guests who have fully enjoyed the liberality of Raj mahal Palace
including Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, Mrs. Jacqueline Kennedy,
Prince Charles and Lady Diana. Continuing the tradition of majestic
Hospitality, His Highness Maharaja Sawai Bhawani Singh Ji transferred
Rajmahal Palace into a hotel in 1979. Today, Raj Mahal Palace offers the
guest a chance to revive the mysterious days of the maharajas in full
modern comfort. Rajmahal Palace Hotel and Resort is located on the
embankment of hushed River Banas in the small town of Tonk (100 km from
